The film magazine I am going to analyse is Total Film. This magazine cover follows the typical codes and conventions of a magazine, it includes;

• Barcode
• Issue number/date
• 3 colour rule

The magazine follows the three colour rule as the colour scheme is red, white and silver, this has been done to reflect the theme of the film Inception as the main cover story is based on Inception, also these are the colours used on the film poster. The cover could appeal to fans of the film 'Inception' and fans of Leonardo DiCaprio as he is the model for the main image. The target audience of the magazine may be males as the cover lines include such films as Inception, Clash of the Titans, Tron, Thor, ect - These films usually have a larger male audience. The cover line says 'Mind blowing' which refers to the films narrative. The theme of the main cover story has been integrated into the mast head and reflects the genre of the film which is science fiction.
